nobile If you don't fancy manually installing a driver, I wouldn't bother trying to upgrade - Windows 7 is supported for another few years and I prefer it in many ways.
Then set Windows updates to 'notify me before downloading' or whatever it says rather than automatic and when they reappear under 'recommended updates' - hide them. Advertisements or commercial links.
